Understanding the User
User Research
The user research was conducted to understand the needs, behaviors, and motivations of plant lovers. Using surveys, interviews, and competitor analysis, the study identified four key user groups: home gardeners, plant collectors, nursery owners, and beginners. The research revealed a strong need for a centralized platform where users could buy and sell plants locally, connect with like-minded plant enthusiasts, and access reliable plant care support.
Participants expressed frustration with the lack of a trustworthy and community-focused space that supported plant-related transactions and learning. Many users wanted to browse plants based on their location and preferred buying from either nurseries or fellow community members. Trust, transparency, and convenience were recurring themes.
Users also showed high interest in sharing their plant journeys, getting care tips, and identifying diseases visually. Beginners especially needed simple, personalized guidance to care for their plants. The idea of connecting with others through events, plant drives, and local gatherings received enthusiastic responses.
These insights highlighted an opportunity to create an all-in-one platform for green lovers—one that blends commerce, community, and care. Seedify aims to become that trusted space, supporting users in every stage of their plant journey.
